The Portuguese Pointer is an ancient pointing breed from Portugal, known for being gentle and affectionate. Athletic yet calm, they're versatile hunting dogs who transition beautifully to family life. They're patient, devoted, and excellent with children.
Daily exercise through walks, runs, or field work keeps them content. Their short coat is easy to maintain. Portuguese Pointers are eager to please and respond well to positive training. For families seeking a calm, versatile pointing dog with a gentle nature, the Portuguese Pointer is wonderful.
