The Pyrenean Shepherd is a small to medium herding dog from the French Pyrenees. Athletic, energetic, and incredibly smart, they're tireless workers who were bred to herd sheep in mountainous terrain. Despite their size, they're fearless and driven, with boundless enthusiasm for work.
They need vigorous daily exercise and mental challenges—herding, agility, and advanced training keep them thriving. Their rough or smooth coat requires regular brushing. Pyrenean Shepherds are best for active, experienced owners. For those seeking a small, intense herding dog with remarkable ability, the Pyrenean Shepherd is exceptional.
