Shepsky Breed Guide & Puppies

Shepsky

The Shepsky crosses the German Shepherd and Siberian Husky, creating a striking, high-energy working dog mix. These large crosses (50-90 pounds) combine GSD trainability and guarding instincts with Husky vocal nature and independence. Many are challenging—expect stubbornness, escape artistry, and intense energy.

Vigorous daily exercise for 90+ minutes is essential—long runs, hiking, or competitive sports. They shed extremely heavily year-round—constant vacuuming is part of life. Training requires consistency and patience. They're vocal (howling, talking), can be reactive with other dogs, and need secure fencing. For very active, experienced owners who want a striking companion and can handle intense working breeds, Shepskies are loyal but demanding.
